Meet Our Recipients

Lindsay DaRosa

Lindsay is currently in the hospital undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoid Leukemia (“ALL”), which she was just diagnosed with in July, 2019. She will remain in the hospital for over a month as she undergoes numerous bone marrow aspirations, spinal taps, and other treatment.

Lindsay is an independent real estate agent with Keller Williams but had to apply for Medical because she is currently unable to work and has no income. She has an extremely supportive mother who spends much of her time with Lindsay during her treatments & hospitalization. She also has countless friends who visit and help keep Lindsay’s spirits up during this difficult time.

In the past, Lindsay has volunteered and raised a lot of money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, not knowing that one day she would be diagnosed with a blood cancer as well.

Kris Odell

Kris is currently undergoing treatment for B Cell Lymphoma (LLC). This is her second battle with lymphoma, her first time was in 2013, and just one month after she made it to the celebrated 5 yr mark, was diagnosed again with an unrelated lymphoma in April 2019. She began chemo in May and just finished her last round in July. Kris was hospitalized through her chemo as she needed 24 hour care.

She is home now, but still extremely weak. She will be receiving her radiation treatment plan within the next couple of weeks and will then also be meeting with bone marrow oncologists in October.

Kris is married and has two sons, ages 10 & 8. Her husband of 17 years used all of his vacation time from work to stay, and sleep, at the hospital with her during her chemo treatments. And Kris is now on disability, without a set return to work date.
